Our team members are sole proprietors or incorporated entities who operate their own businesses and contract with Morning Star on a project-by-project basis. We come together intentionally — combining deep, specialized expertise across governance, finance, operations, strategy, and systems — to support complex client needs. Lisa Goss, PBDM, MBA & retired nurse, is the founder and driving force behind Morning Star Consultive Services, an organization
she created with a simple goal: to help charities
and non-profits thrive.
Named after the spirit name gifted to her by her Elder, Morning Star has grown into a full-service consultancy offering strategic planning, financial management, regulatory compliance, and board governance across various sectors.
With 30 years of experience as a nurse (retired) and leader, Lisa brings a deep understanding of frontline challenges and a compassionate approach to her work. Her extensive executive experience allows her to guide organizations through restructuring, operational improvement, and culture transformation. Whether addressing immediate needs or building long-term partnerships, Lisa empowers non-profits and charities to establish strong foundations for sustainable success.
Lisa has served on various boards since 2001, consistently contributing her governance expertise. She has also excelled in supporting organizations serving underserved communities, including LGBTTPQ2+, individuals experiencing homelessness, and those facing mental health challenges. She expertly bridges governance approaches, ensuring culturally sensitive and impactful solutions.
As a privacy officer, Lisa ensures regulatory compliance and best practices in governance and operations. Her MBA, along with her master's thesis in board governance, provides the strategic foundation for developing robust systems that allow organizations to operate efficiently and with confidence.

Staci Bailey has been an integral part of Morning Star Consulting since its inception, contributing as a senior consultant and collaborative partner whose work has helped shape the firm’s impact and growth. With over 25 years of experience across social services, justice, business operations, and event management, Staci brings steady leadership, strategic insight, and deep practical expertise to every engagement.
Staci is the founder and lead consultant of SRB Consulting, where she specializes in coaching and mentoring women to step confidently into leadership, build sustainable careers and businesses, and define success on their own terms. Her work is grounded in strengths-based leadership, clarity, and practical systems that help people move from overwhelm to momentum — what she often describes as defining your fabulous.
Her strengths in organizational leadership, governance, and capacity building for charities and non-profits make her a trusted advisor on complex projects. With a rare ability to bridge frontline service realities and high-level operational strategy, Staci helps organizations streamline systems, strengthen leadership, and deliver meaningful, lasting impact.
Through her collaborative work with Morning Star, Staci contributes her expertise on a project-by-project basis, bringing both her independent consulting practice and her commitment to women’s leadership into the collective work. Geraldine De Guzman is the founder of Lunova Business Strategies, where she provides virtual administrative and operations support to small and start-up businesses seeking strong foundations for sustainable growth. Through her practice, Geraldine specializes in streamlining processes, improving operational efficiency, and enhancing financial clarity so entrepreneurs can scale with confidence.
Geraldine brings experience in administration and business operations. She holds a degree in Computer Science and a post-baccalaureate credential in Business, Accounting, and Management. Known for her ability to quickly learn complex platforms and implement solutions, she supports her clients with reliability, and strategic insight.
Through her collaborative work with Morning Star Consultive Services, Geraldine contributes her expertise on a contract basis, supporting administrative coordination and
operational systems for our clients.
Fluent in English and Tagalog, and a former ESL teacher, Geraldine also mentors students and newcomers to Canada, generously sharing her knowledge and experience. Her work reflects Lunova’s mission to empower entrepreneurs through thoughtful, integrated business support — a constellation of services designed to work in harmony for long-term success.

Andrea Bjorklund is a seasoned consultant with over two decades of experience in the non-profit and public sectors. Comfortable in both French and English, and holding an MBA from the Asper School of Business, she excels in project management, policy analysis, and business strategy.
Andrea brings not only her expertise but also her whole heart to every project, seamlessly blending business acumen with empathy. Her ability to marry structure and strategy with genuine care for the people and communities she serves is a rare gift. Now, in partnership with Lisa Goss at Morning Star Consultive Services, Andrea supports organizations in delivering impactful community programs and empowers small businesses to lead in their industries. Her dedication and thoughtful approach truly elevate the work we do together.

Sheila North, Wikahsko Iskwew, is a Cree leader, journalist, and advocate from Bunibonibee Cree Nation, fluent in Cree and deeply connected to her Indigenous roots. With a joint degree in Creative Communications and Rhetoric & Journalism, Sheila is a former Grand Chief of Manitoba Keewatinowi Okimakanak (MKO) and the first woman to hold this role.
Sheila has led impactful initiatives on Indigenous economic contributions, Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls (MMIW), and Indigenous rights advocacy.
Sheila brings extensive experience in Indigenous-led programming, policy advising, and media, offering invaluable insights to non-profits and community organizations.

Ahmed Elsayed is the founder of Right Solutions Inc., an accounting and tax services firm supporting small and medium-sized businesses, non-profits, and charities with reliable, compliance-focused financial solutions. Through his practice, Ahmed provides bookkeeping, payroll administration, and financial operations support designed to give organizations clarity, accuracy, and confidence in their numbers.
Ahmed collaborates with Morning Star Consultive Services on a contract basis, contributing his technical expertise and steady, client-focused approach to project teams and client engagements. His work supports organizations in maintaining strong financial systems, meeting statutory obligations, and making informed operational decisions.
His professional background includes experience as a Payroll Specialist and providing full-cycle financial management support across multiple sectors. Ahmed holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics & Management from the University of Manitoba, a Certificate with Honours in Applied Accounting from Red River College Polytechnic, and the Payroll Compliance Professional (PCP) designation from the National Payroll Institute. He is currently completing the CPA pathway.
